China Town
So they dropped me off, an Italian in China town - I had no choice in the matter. I wasnt against it but I’d had my share of fried rice before and could do with a different scene, But I was glad that this place stayed open all night - drinks were cheap and I could hide in a corner and get by….. yes I was white but I kept low and ate like the locals and stayed out of trouble….. and once you knew them they’d open up a bit too and tell you the low down. You know they were just like us - just with a few billion more trying to earn a crust and send their kids to school….. after a while I made it my point to try and get to know the old men and they’d watch my back as best they could. I got to like the place but before long it was time get that slow boat up the river and say adieu. They said they’d save me a seat in the corner the one nearest the back door escape………. and you know if I get out of here alive I might just take them up on the offer.
